Program Description
Voices provides insight into the lives of individuals suffering from homelessness and/or poverty to connect them with their community along with housing and employment opportunities, so they can grow their income and build their assets.
“The Importance of Sharing your Story” by Jeroen Nederveen, a man who has experienced homeless in the Netherlands.
For the ones who are shy or ashamed of sharing their story about being homeless, about the pain, the sorrow, the cold and being forgotten as a human being, remember this:
Our stories connect each other, we hold onto the inspiration and strength the words give us and help us on our own way to determine our path in life. Sharing your personal story, how painful, how embarrassing, or how beautiful it can be, in all its purity it is what makes us human and connects us. And as life has its end this is also true for our stories and by sharing them with others it renders us a bit more immortal. Because when the words we expressed in the stories we shared, are remembered, and spoken aloud, we are and shall always be alive, even long after when our spirit has left the earth and our body is no more.
So, please speak, share, explore and love your own stories, no matter the origin. There is and always be someone who listens and sees the true colors of you and your story, without judgement but with an open heart, and I know Homeless Entrepreneur is one of those organizations.
