World Economic Forum Sleepout AKA THE Great Sleepout
(Public-Private Cooperation Campaign)
To speed up the process of empowering people out of homelessness and poverty, Homeless Entrepreneur has been giving homeless people a voice (Knowledge) at the World Economic Forum since 2018 by joining lively formal and informal conversations (Recognition) in Davos, building and strengthening its relationships with public and private organizations (Change) and challenging the status quo while sleeping out in -20ºC weather during the entire event.
Our aim is to become an active, accepted community member and partner of this amazing forum, so we can inspire its stakeholders to end global homelessness as we know it by 2050.
Problem(s)
#Unemployment “According to the ILO, around 220 million people are expected to remain unemployed globally in 2021, while the global unemployment rate may reach 6.3 per cent, falling to only 5.7 in 2022, which still would be above the pre-pandemic level of 5.4 per cent registered in 2019.”
#Homelessness “Globally, 1.6 billion people worldwide live in inadequate housing conditions, with about 15 million forcefully evicted every year, according to UN-Habitat, which has noted an alarming rise in homelessness in the last 10 years. Young people are the age group with the highest risk of becoming homeless.”
Solution
We, too, believe Working Together & Restoring Trust is the best solution to reduce poverty via work and active citizenship.
Opportunity
Homeless Entrepreneur will be giving people experiencing poverty a voice at the World Economic Forum (WEF) for the 6th straight year by participating actively and proving that our organization, beneficiaries and stakeholders deserve to be listened to, respected and included in the Davos Agenda and embraced by the WEF community.
How we do it
We sleep out in Davos during the World Economic Forum and actively participate in this amazing event within the opportunities that are presented:
1) Awareness Sleepout: 5 nights with “Under The Stars” late night conversations!
2) Challenging Status Quo: Communicating with WEF stakeholders participating in #WEF24 (online and offline) to inspire action to empower people out of poverty.
3) Clear Proposal: Homeless Entrepreneur will present a clear proposal to the WEF and its partners, which aims to end homelessness as we now it by 2050 thanks to Public-Private-People Cooperation.

Giving People Experiencing Homelessness Presence at Davos
Homeless Entrepreneur and international artists, Veronica and Edwin Dam de Nogales, aim to give people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion around the world both a voice and presence at Davos by getting “The UnforeSeen Variable” commissioned by a strategic sponsor for 10 years and then gifting it to the city of Davos. We plan on including a QR Code on the sculpture description, so people can see the progress and success of the people on our programs thanks to this project. 92% of the sculpture’s funding will be destined to our main programs (Helpline, Voices, HELP and Housing Empowerment program) to empower people out of poverty via greater cooperation in a fragmented world.
